If you watched our “Getting Ready for a Networking Event” video, then you’re all set to pick which networking events you’d like to go to!
When you first start networking, finding the right events can be like finding a needle in a haystack, am I right?
Finding an event in the right part of the city, that’s closest to you, at a date and time that works for you, in a venue that is accessible to you? Talk about difficult.
Over the years, we’ve put together a little list of websites and other ways on how to find networking events. Honestly, sometimes scrolling through these websites can be fun (and a great distraction from stress).
So, what websites can help you find networking events?
- Facebook Events
- Your university or college student union
- Sign up for Co-working Spaces e-newsletters (we love Make Lemonade’s Zesty Newsletter!)
- Industry specific communities (ex. Travel Massive, for those working in the Travel Industry)
You can also just Google “Networking” and your local city, but I find it’s better to have a short list of websites to refer to, not to mention, if you like the type of events that a certain website suggests, by all means, jot it down!
Either way, having your specific list definitely makes how to find networking events much easier, and within your comfort zone, which is what we’re aiming for here.
Next week, we’ll get you all prepped for what to do AFTER a networking event. Stay tuned!
